Section 508 Compliance

In its efforts to make information and communication technology products and services more accessible, the federal government requires its procurements to follow accessibility standards defined under Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. This standard aims to use alternative design or technology that results in greater accessibility and usability by individuals with varying abilities.

Service Personnel

As a provider of consulting services, we ensure our service personnel - including all labor categories performing a GSA MAS contract - possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to address the applicable Revised 508 Standards, and shall provide an Accessibility Conformance Report or other supporting documentation upon request.

Software, Applications or Web Pages

We aim to use commercial software in the production of our deliverables that conform to these standards and allow for assistive technology. When we develop technology tools with the government, we are in continuous communication about end-user needs and quality management. We strive to develop applications that conform to these standards, such as permitting user preferences for color, contrast, font type, font size, and focus cursor or producing report-generating tools that export files in a compliant format.

Communications and Documentation

To achieve compliance, we use clear and plain language in our verbal and written communications - avoiding jargon, using descriptive headings and appropriate spacing, and using text and page background color combinations that achieve appropriate brightness and contrast.  We ascertain accessibility needs before any meeting, conference, or seminar in order to ensure communication meets all applicable standards for accessibility to persons with disabilities.

As the government continues to expand its accessibility standards and accessibility technology continues to improve, our services will also continue to evolve to accommodate differently abled populations.
