Tyler Yang, Ph.D.
Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Tyler Yang has over 28 years of experience in financial engineering and mortgage risk management. His specialties include affordable housing policies, international housing finance systems, risk-based capital, mortgage termination analytics, and fixed and structured securities. He has wide-ranging project management experience, ensuring the timely delivery of high quality results within budget, even under extremely tight timelines. Dr. Yang is a patent owner of HAPN™, an innovative, affordable, and sustainable shared equity homeownership tool. He has published many articles in prestigious academic journals and frequently gives speeches at professional seminars and conferences. He was ranked one of the top real estate researchers in the world over the past two decades by the Journal of Real Estate Literature. He is also active in several academic and practitioner organizations, ex-President of the Asian Real Estate Society, and co-editor of several leading real estate finance journals. Prior to founding IFE Group, Dr. Yang held several positions, including Senior Director of Credit Portfolio Engineering at Freddie Mac, Director of Housing Finance at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, and Senior Research Economist at Fannie Mae. He has also taught at a number of universities. Dr. Yang received his Masters of Science and Ph.D. in Finance and a Masters in Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Chijack Lin, Ph.D.
As Managing Director, Dr. Chijack Lin leads IFE Group’s outreach efforts and plays an active role on IFE Group projects and product launches. He has over eight years of experience in financial model development, validation, and implementation. Dr. Lin has led the development effort of various core risk management models for government agencies and leading financial institutions, including a mortgage underwriting scorecard for the U.S. housing finance agency. He has also led the development efforts in building mortgage risk management systems, such as loan transition models, loss severity models, and macroeconomic forecast models, many of which have included the implementation of sophisticated simulation methods. In addition to model development, Dr. Lin leads IFE Group’s model validation practices, specializing in credit risk systems, underwriting scorecards, automated valuation models, and banking rating scorecards. He has validated over 50 models supporting a broad array of use cases with varying degrees of complexity. Prior to IFE Group, Dr. Lin was a Senior Economist of the KPMG model validation practice. Dr. Lin received his Ph.D. in Economics from Ohio State University.
Henry Cassidy, Ph.D.
Dr. Cassidy has over 35 years of experience in the financial industry serving government and large financial institutions in support of numerous activities, including trading and asset liability management; mortgage underwriting; portfolio and credit risk management; stress testing and capital adequacy; and mortgage-related policy evaluations and research. He is the owner of three financial instrument patents. Dr. Cassidy frequently gives speeches at professional meetings and has published a textbook on econometrics in addition to numerous articles in leading economic journals. As IFE Group’s Chief Consultant, he actively engages on our projects, providing invaluable guidance to staff and collaborating closely with clients. Prior to IFE Group, he held a number of positions, including Senior Vice President at Freddie Mac, Director at the Federal Home Loan Bank Board, Senior Fellow of the Brookings Institute, and a professor at Virginia Polytechnic University and George Mason University. Dr. Cassidy received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
